A Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) is a structured and formal document that outlines specific goals and actions designed to help employees enhance their performance and achieve desired outcomes. A well-designed PIP shouldn’t be a punishment or disciplinary action. PIPs are a valuable tool for focusing on specific areas of improvement to help develop the employee’s career options and skills.
Why should you Attend: At some point, every manager will have an employee whose performance or behavior does not meet expectations. When this happens, the manager has a responsibility to provide honest, corrective feedback and take other steps necessary to bring the employee’s performance to the level needed for them to be successful in their role.
